Veteran’s Park, also known as Willow Pond Park, had not undergone upgrades since the 1980’s. As part of a recent community initiative, the City of Perth Amboy put together a plan to invest in recreation and sports fields for it’s residents, including a comprehensive refurbishment to the Veteran’s Memorial Youth League Complex. New fields with upgraded turf, multipurpose recreational areas, a new pavilion, and batting cages and bullpens were all to be installed as part of the project. In addition a team including Engineering Driven Design PC worked to design significant upgrades to the existing Albert P. Muska fieldhouse building. An addition was constructed and the fieldhouse modified to include a second floor, a new garage, and a storage shed. The new second floor would include toilets, a kitchenette, conference space, and an office area. In addition the existing commercial kitchen located on the first floor was upgraded as well. Engineering Driven Design PC also designed the electrical feeder to serve the new pavilion.
