Nouryon Consolidation | Bridgewater, NJ

Seeking to streamline their processes, Nouryon Chemicals decided to combine the Bridgewater, New Jersey and Brewster, New York facilities and house all of their operations in Bridgewater. Engineering Driven Design, ArchitecturePLUS, and Nouryon worked together to create a phased plan which would allow the laboratory to remain in operation during the reconfiguration process. After a full site survey and documentation of the existing MEP&FP conditions was complete, a concept plan was developed, and then construction documents and technical specifications.

The design criteria included a new HVAC system to provide 100% outside air systems for the laboratory spaces. The new rooftop mechanical units also provided chilled water cooling and steam heating throughout the facility. Exhaust systems were designed and installed to serve the various fume hoods and the general exhaust requirements. In addition, new lighting fixtures were provided throughout the facility. The new plumbing systems included additional lab and fume hood cup sinks, a compressed air system, and emergency eye wash and shower systems.
