Newark Public Schools, seeing an opportunity to improve the social environment for students, converted existing, unused classroom space into a new student lounge and school store. For the project, Engineering Driven Design PC worked to design custom heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems to be installed to serve the areas.

In order to accommodate the architectural modifications and mechanical system upgrades, Engineering Driven Design also designed reconfigured electrical power and lighting systems for the spaces. In addition, the existing fire alarm system was modified to accommodate the new layout and increase coverage in the student spaces.
