The Newark Public Schools wanted to convert an existing kitchen in the Vocational High School into a teaching bakery. All new heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems were designed for the approximately 13,000 square foot space. The electrical system was confirmed and redistributed. The existing plumbing systems were modified to accommodate the new layout, and the fire protection systems were relocated to accommodate a new ceiling.

In addition to the bakery, the adjacent toilet rooms and laundry areas were upgraded as part of the project. In addition to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and systems designs, Engineering driven Design PC worked along with the CTS Group Architecture and the school district throughout the bidding and construction phases to ensure the project was a success.
